On this day in Pro Wrestling history on December 19, 1987, Otto Wanz’s Catch Wrestling Association held an event at the Stadthalle in Bremen, Germany.
“The Eighth Wonder of the World” André the Giant was still under World Wrestling Federation contract at that time, when he wrestled former AWA World Champion Otto Wanz in the main event of this European show.
Actually André was feuding with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan at that time, which makes his appearance here even more surprising.

A couple of fans came dressed as Santa Claus for last night’s SmackDown and they noted on Twitter that WWE security threatened to throw them out for drawing too much attention.
