WWE and TNA Wrestling have announced a groundbreaking multi-year partnership that will facilitate cross-promotional appearances between their rosters, particularly on WWE’s developmental brand, NXT.
The collaboration, confirmed by WWE to ESPN, aims to create fresh opportunities for talent development and enhance the viewing experience for fans.
This partnership has already seen notable interactions over the past year. TNA star Joe Hendry featured prominently on NXT programming, culminating in a high-profile NXT Championship match against Ethan Page at No Mercy.
Similarly, former TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace had a significant presence on NXT, highlighted by her NXT Women’s Championship match against Roxanne Perez at Battleground and her surprise entry in last year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match.
NXT talents have also ventured into TNA programming. Wrestlers like Wes Lee, Charlie Dempsey, and Riley Osbourne have made appearances on ‘TNA iMPACT!’, further solidifying the collaborative relationship.
Shawn Michaels, WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership:
“We look forward to growing and evolving our partnership with TNA Wrestling and its outstanding group of athletes by creating new opportunities to further the development of our talent and to elevate the viewer experience at home.”
This collaboration comes at a time of increased visibility for both brands, with NXT airing every Tuesday on The CW Network and TNA iMPACT! broadcasting weekly on AXS TV.
The alliance is expected to bring exciting matches and storylines that blur the lines between the two promotions while fostering the growth of emerging stars.
This week’s NXT featured an appearance by TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich.
