WWE Trying To Get Another Huge Name To Work SmackDown 1000

On this day in 1998, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired another LIVE episode of their weekly TV show ‘WCW MONDAY NITRO’.

It was broadcasted from the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, South Carolina and featured matches, interviews & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WCW Halloween Havoc 1998’ PPV.

• WWE Trying To Get Another Huge Name To Work SmackDown 1000

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials are trying to get The Rock to work the historic 1000 episode of SmackDown, SmackDown 1000, on October 16.

As we noted yesterday, No Holds Barred podcast noted that WWE is trying to get another huge name to work SmackDown 1000 – Hulk Hogan.

Only Evolution (Triple H, Ric Flair, Batista & Randy Orton) is confirmed for SmackDown 1000 so far.

The Capital One Arena’s website is now advertising the following names for SmackDown 1000:

– The Undertaker

– Michelle McCool

– Torrie Wilson

– Teddy Long

– Vickie Guerrero

Also, the following two matches are being advertised as well:

– AJ Styles & Daniel Bryan vs. Samoa Joe & The Miz

– Charlotte Flair, Asuka & Naomi vs. Becky Lynch & The IIconics

According to the No Holds Barred podcast, the following names are also expected to appear at SmackDown 1000:

– Tony Chimel

– Shane McMahon

– The Big Show

– Edge

– Hulk Hogan

Also, WrestleVotes noted that Rey Mysterio is expected to return for SmackDown 1000 as well.
