Below are a couple of important WWE news updates:
– According to TMZ Sports, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sonya Deville has suffered an injury:
“She’s suffered a serious knee injury that will require surgery.
Our sources say Deville tore her ACL during her Tag Team Championship match against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair on July 28 in New Orleans on SmackDown … and will undergo a procedure on Tuesday to fix the issue.
We’re told there’s currently no timetable for her return to the ring.”
The future of the Women’s Tag Team Titles, currently held by Sonya & Chelsea Green, will be addressed on tonight’s post-SummerSlam episode of RAW.
– In the main event of IMPACT Wrestling’s Slammiversary 2023 pay-per-view last month, Alex Shelley defeated Nick Aldis (fka Magnus) to retain the IMPACT World Championship.
With that loss, Aldis’ short-term deal with IMPACT came to an end and he became a Free Agent.
As noted before, PWInsider reported that WWE was interested in signing Aldis, but as a Backstage Producer, not a Wrestler.
In an update from them today, the former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion will be in Minneapolis for the RAW after SummerSlam tonight and will be serving as a Producer for the show.
He will reportedly be at a number of upcoming WWE TV tapings.
Aldis recently pulled out from several independent bookings due to back issues.
