Below are a couple of WWE & AEW news stories:

• WWE has announced that IYO SKY will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Zelina Vega on this Friday’s episode of SmackDown.

Zelina is getting this title match because she pinned IYO on the August 4th episode of SmackDown, which was one night before IYO won the Title by cashing-in her Money In The Bank contract on Bianca Belair at SummerSlam.

Below is the updated card for SmackDown:

WWE Women’s Championship Match: IYO SKY (c) vs. Zelina Vega

– United States Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Grayson Waller

– Jimmy Uso will appear

• Former AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin was one of the first signings for AEW.

He has had a very solid run in the company so far. He is a 2-time TNT Champion, got to be CM Punk’s first opponent in AEW and has been paired with Sting since The Icon made his AEW debut.

Speaking on the Jon Chuckery Show, Allin stated that he’s not interested in going to any other wrestling promotion as he wants to work for AEW forever.

“I can’t say enough good things about working with Tony Khan. It baffles me that people can take it for granted. I don’t know if people realize how fortunate we are to be wrestling at such a high level with such an open-minded owner.

What you see out there is 100% Darby Allin. Nobody tells me how to walk, talk, or act. It’s 100% me. To have that free reign to collaborate with Tony and create such good storylines leading to Wembley, you can’t say enough good things.

I’m super stoked about everything and my whole growth with AEW, but them letting me be me. I haven’t shied away from this, I tell Tony that I’m maybe the worst businessman in pro wrestling because there is never going to be a bidding war for Darby Allin.

I love AEW so much, I’m not playing games. I’m not going to be like, ‘what if I went somewhere else?’ No, I’m just being real, Darby Allin is going to live and die in AEW.”

Darby Allin will team up with Sting to face Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage at All In at the Wembley Stadium in UK this Sunday.

He’s also slated to challenge Luchasaurus for the TNT Championship at All Out in Chicago.
