• WWE Wrestler Says He Will Be Out Of Action For Months

Santos Escobar is scheduled for surgery after tearing his triceps muscle. The WWE and AAA wrestler apparently aggravated the injury while competing at the AAA Rey de Reyes (Week 1) event.

According to Fightful Select, the original damage happened during a match with El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. while on tour for NXT during the Royal Rumble weekend.

At the time, everyone thought it was just a minor issue, but it turns out to be a full tear. This is a major setback for Escobar, who had only recently returned to action after being off TV for several months.

This injury is the reason why Escobar looked “off” during the match at Rey de Reyes, where El Grande Americano #2 (Ludwig Kaiser) defeated Escobar, La Parka, and Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) to become the #1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship.

In an update, AAA posted a backstage interview with Escobar, where he blamed El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. for his injury and messing with his livelihood. Escobar said he’s going to be out of action for months, but when he returns, he’s coming for the AAA Latin American Championship and Wagner’s mask.
