• Taz Thought Top SmackDown Star Was Going To Make A Nasty Heel Turn This Week

During a recent edition of “The Taz Show” podcast, former ECW World Champion Taz said the following about SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair’s promo from this week’s SmackDown Live:

“I enjoyed Charlotte’s promo. I told Charlotte did a good job. I thought it kind of had like a shoot feel saying that the public spoke up meaning about the all women first ever Royal Rumble match and she got to talk about and putting over the fans, putting over the WWE Universe saying – You guys basically spoke up. You spoke up on social media and the management/the front office heard it, so it’s because of you guys that we have the match and you guys broke down the walls.

I’m sure there’s a lot of truth to that because I think WWE tries their best to listen to the audience, but they do think they know best for what you want as opposed to what they think you want. And some of that I understand and I kind of agree with them a little bit on that. I get it. We as an audience as a whole, we’re paying for their content so we should trust in them to a degree that they know what we want as a whole.

But Charlotte, I thought her promo seemed genuine. There was a good portion of it where I thought wow she’s gonna turn like nasty heel here early in this promo. She didn’t do it but I thought she was gonna. Then they went into doing angles after that. But there was an opportunity there for her before Naomi came out to really turn heel, but it’s probably not time.

I just was thinking they need someone to bury this first time ever female Royal Rumble… and they need a woman to do it, not a guy and I think Charlotte could do it with no problem. But I think they had their chance, they didn’t do it. Instead they went to a tag match here.”

• WWE Wrestlers Not In Favor Of 205 Live Exclusive Live Events

As we noted before, WWE will be doing three 205 Live exclusive Live Events in January 2018. Below is what Brad Shepard (the guy who broke the XFL re-launch story) said about this:

“A source in WWE noted to me that everyone is rooting against the 205 Live test run shows because they don’t have the time or resources to make it successful if they go on the road full-time as a separate brand.”

“WOKEN” Matt Hardy vs. Bray Wyatt has already been added to these 205 Live events to promote ticket sales (as WWE officials were most probably failing to sell tickets for these events).
