• WWE’s Original Plan For Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton Feud

The Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton feud has officially kicked off. The former Legacy faction members will collide in the main event of WrestleMania 42 – Night 1 with the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line.

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE’s original plan for Cody vs. Randy was for this feud to take place after WrestleMania 42:

“The Bronson Reed injury for whatever reason was the clincher of the idea to go with Rhodes vs. Orton and McIntyre vs. Fatu in singles matches. Rhodes vs. Orton was always the direction, but originally that was planned as Rhodes’ major program after WrestleMania 42.”

Orton turned heel on last week’s SmackDown and brutally assaulted The American Nightmare after signing the contract for their match. Orton will explain his actions on tonight’s episode.

• Backstage News On Who Advised Ricochet To Delete Disrespectful Tweet About Fan

After losing the AEW National Championship to Jack Perry in a 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal at Revolution last Sunday, Ricochet had a meltdown backstage.

AEW posted a video of his reaction on social media and the situation sparked controversy when a fan commented that Ricochet’s acting hadn’t improved, and he responded with a tweet saying, “I’m glad you got MS,” referring to the fan’s Multiple Sclerosis. The comment drew significant backlash online, with Ricochet’s wife, former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin, also being targeted by fans.

According to the Wrestling Observer, a friend of Ricochet’s called him and suggested he delete the tweet. Ricochet followed that advice, removing the post, and upon reflection, decided to apologize.

As noted before, the apology was completely his decision. No one at AEW or WBD forced him to do it. AEW did, however, tell him it was the right thing to do.

Even after his apology, Ricochet continues to face criticism from fans, and both he and his wife have received death threats online.
