Below are a couple of news stories involving Santos Escobar and Ronda Rousey:

• Santos Escobar turned heel on last week’s SmackDown by attacking fellow LWO member Rey Mysterio.

PWInsider was asked if Escobar’s heel turn was booked due to Mysterio’s knee injury. They reported:

“It was always planned, and had Rey not gotten hurt, they would gone right into Live Events doing Rey vs. Escobar.”

According to the Wrestling Observer, Escobar vs. Mysterio is going to be a group vs. group feud:

“It’s gonna be group vs. group. It’s gonna be Santos and some partners vs. Rey with partners. I don’t know what they’re going to do with the LWO name, which side gets it. Maybe they’re even going to feud over the name, I don’t know.

Obviously, Carlito will be with Rey and Santos will be with Cruz del Toro and Joaquin Wilde, and I don’t know where Zelina is going, and that’s the situation there.”

• As we have reported before, Ronda Rousey is no longer with WWE and is now teaming up with her good friend, AEW wrestler Marina Shafir, on the indy scene.

In the main event of last night’s Wrestling REVOLVER “Unreal” event, Rousey & Shafir took on AEW’s Billie Starkz & ROH Women’s Champion Athena (fka Ember Moon in WWE).

The match ended in a Disqualification when Athena attacked Ronda with the ROH Title, while Ronda was about to lock-in the Armbar on Billie. You can watch it below:

Also, during this match, Billie dropped Ronda on her head with a German Suplex:

Billie tweeted the following about this move:

“It’s not a mistake, I did what I did.
