• WWE’s Possible Plan For Roman Reigns At WrestleMania 42

In the main event of WrestleMania 41 – Night 1, Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins took place. Paul Heyman turned his back on both Punk and Reigns in this match and joined forces with Rollins. Rollins pinned Reigns to win the match.

Reigns has been feuding with The Vision ever since, as he was taken out by Rollins and Bron Breakker on the RAW after WrestleMania 41.

Roman faced Vision member Bronson Reed at Clash In Paris and was victorious. However, Breakker and Reed destroyed him after the match. Reigns will have a rematch against Reed this Saturday at Crown Jewel: Perth, where they will square off in an Australian Street Fight.

The eventual plan for this feud is a singles match between Reigns and Rollins. According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE is likely saving Reigns vs. Rollins for WrestleMania 42, since Roman will be in the WarGames match at Survivor Series 2025 and he will be in the 30-man Royal Rumble 2026 match in Saudi Arabia next year, leaving WrestleMania 42 as the next “Big 4” PLE for this showdown.

The issues between Reigns and Rollins began in 2014, when Rollins turned his back on The Shield. While Roman has defeated Seth in a singles match on TV many times, he has never defeated the current World Heavyweight Champion in a PLE match.

On this week’s WWE RAW, CM Punk came out and thanked fans for a warm welcome for his wife, AJ Lee, at Wrestlepalooza. Punk said he started this year by beating Seth Rollins and he will end this year by defeating Rollins again to win back his World Heavyweight Championship because he’s better than Rollins.

LA Knight came out and said Punk is a great husband, but a trash champion. LA said Seth has never pinned him and he’s the last person to pin Seth, and he’s going to be the next person to pin Seth and become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Jey Uso then came out and said he never got his rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship, so he’s next in line. LA said it’s his time. LA said Jey thinks he lost the World Title because he’s not Roman Reigns and that’s right, but that’s a good thing. LA told The Usos to go after the Tag Team Titles and Jey superkicked Knight.

Punk then said the following to Jey: “I love Jey Uso. I don’t like little Roman.” Jey tried to attack Punk, but Jimmy Uso stopped Jey. Punk then punched Jey, which led to Jimmy superkicking Punk.

In the main event, Knight and Punk defeated The Usos. During the ending moments of the match, Punk hit Jey with the GTS. LA tagged in and stole the pin from Punk.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez noted that this angle will likely lead to a Triple Threat #1 Contender’s match between Punk, Knight, and Jey, or another Fatal 4-Way World Title match against Rollins.

They also noted that WWE doesn’t believe in booking clean babyfaces anymore.

Alvarez: “A 4-way feud with 4 babyfaces who are all a$$holes. It is certainly different.”

Meltzer: “They don’t believe in clean babyfaces anymore. Punk, LA Knight, Jey – they all have to have an edge or they don’t work in this era.”
