Below are some top WWE & AEW news stories of the day.
• There has been speculation about Britt Baker’s AEW status after PWTorch’s Wade Keller reported she is among the talents not currently being utilized by the promotion, sparking rumors about her future with AEW. According to Keller, AEW President Tony Khan has not been using Baker but could call her back if that changes. However, Baker is not expected to return to TV in the near future.
Bryan Alvarez added that Baker likely has significant time remaining on her AEW contract, and many within the company are unsure why she isn’t being featured.
WrestleVotes reported that WWE is very interested in Baker should she become available, though they don’t anticipate that happening anytime soon:
“We followed up on the Britt Baker potentially being out of AEW story. We did ask an AEW source for clarification, which was met with no comment. We then asked the WWE source if the company would be interested in her if she became available.
That’s the key, if she became available, which we were told a resounding yes, but they don’t expect that to be the case anytime soon. WWE does not expect Britt Baker to be available anytime soon.”

• Tom Pestock (fka Baron Corbin in WWE) is a free agent now and he recently had his first post-WWE match at The People vs. GCW event at the Hammerstein Ballroom, where he lost to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett in a Bloodsport match.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Pestock revealed that his new ring name is ‘The Nomad’ Bishop Dyer.
Also during this interview, Pestock explained why he’s hesitant to join AEW:
“As far as AEW, their fans, they like that AEW in a sense, you know it’s its own entity and built from the ground up. If I went there, out of respect for that world, I wouldn’t want to be just another WWE guy that came there because they left WWE.
I would rather go and do New Japan for a year or more. Who knows, maybe that’s where I love it and stay there for the rest of my career.
So, if I ever did go that route, I would want to kind of clear that “Oh, he’s a WWE guy.” Baron Corbin is dead as far as we know.”
