• WWE’s Unpopular Move Set To Continue

WWE has worked with a number of celebrities in recent years, including Bad Bunny, Logan Paul (who is now a full-time wrestler), Jelly Roll, Pat McAfee, Johnny Knoxville, and Lil Yachty.

On the road to WrestleMania 42, the focus on celebrities was even heavier and drew backlash from fans. It even led to Pat McAfee and Jelly Roll admitting they did not belong in the Night 1 main event between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, and they pulled out of the storyline after the show.

According to Fightful Select, WWE sources were said to be extremely happy with how the celebrity involvement performed across the board, viewing it as a success rather than a negative despite the backlash. The report adds that the company has no plans to scale it back anytime soon.

Lil Yachty, who has formed an alliance with United States Champion Trick Williams, is currently training for an in-ring debut, while ESPN First Take’s Stephen A. Smith could also be involved with WWE in the future.

• Reason Behind Roman Reigns Being Pulled From Multiple WWE Shows

World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns had claimed he would work through the summer in WWE, but that will not be the case. As previously noted, The OTC is no longer being promoted for several upcoming episodes of RAW, despite earlier listings.

WWE has updated its event pages, removing Reigns’ name from the June 1 show in Turin, June 8 in Paris, June 15 in Baltimore, and June 22 in London. He remains advertised for all RAW episodes through the end of May.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the reason Reigns was pulled from these June TV dates is that he will not be appearing at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia next month. As a result, there was no need to build towards the Premium Live Event on television with him.

WWE had featured Reigns on the poster for Night of Champions that was released recently, but it seems plans have changed.

Reigns is set to defend his title against Jacob Fatu at Backlash in Tampa this Saturday. They will have a contract signing on tomorrow’s RAW.
