• WWE’s WrestleMania 39 Main Event Plan Might Not Turn Into Reality

WWE has plans to do The Rock vs. Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39, but once again, just like multiple times in the past, this plan might not turn into reality because of The Rock’s busy schedule.

Below is what the Wrestling Observer reported:

“Dwayne being all over next year promoting [the XFL], which could be interesting because next year’s the WrestleMania that he was supposed to work with Roman Reigns, and that would be in April, and that’s probably gonna be the middle of the season.

If he’s got any kind of an action movie deal within a couple of months (of WrestleMania), let alone, if he’s got one that takes place during that period there’s no way he would do [the match at WrestleMania].

If it’s even like a month or two after, they wouldn’t let him because the insurance and things like that would be too high. That’s why he never did another one (after WrestleMania 29, except the impromptu 6 second match at WrestleMania 32).

If he wants to do a clean slate (with movies) and not do anything…still he’s gonna be promoting [XFL], he can still train, but I don’t think he can promote this stuff and do [WrestleMania]. It’s not just movies, he’s got Ballers, Young Rock, TV shows that he does.

So I know [The Rock vs. Roman Reigns is] kind of the plan for next year, but yeah the guy’s got a lot on his plate that’s gonna be higher priority.”

• Old School Wrestling Legend Would’ve Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 96th birthday of AWA Wrestling Legend Verne Gagne.

Verne used to be a multiple time amateur wrestling champion and even represented the United States Olympic Team at the 1948 Olympic Games.

Most Old School Wrestling fans remember Gagne as the promoter of the legendary ‘American Wrestling Association’ territory, including 10 title reigns as their World Heavyweight Champion.

In 2006, Verne Gagne was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his son Greg Gagne, the night before WrestleMania 22, years after he was already inducted into the short-lived WCW Hall of Fame in 1993.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & † REST IN PEACE
