WWF Golden Era Legend “Ugandan Giant” Kamala, whose real name was James Harris, is reportedly under serious consideration for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.

“According to sources, another name being discussed internally for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025 is ‘The Ugandan Giant’ Kamala. Kamala, who had a successful career throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, is expected to join Triple H, Lex Luger, and others in this year’s class.”
Kamala’s Legendary Career
Kamala’s potential induction would be a fitting tribute to a performer who left an indelible mark on the wrestling industry during the 1980s and 1990s. His unique character, with its wild and menacing persona, captivated audiences and made him a memorable figure in wrestling history.
The “Ugandan Giant” persona, though controversial at times, was undeniably effective. Kamala’s feuds with iconic figures like Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and The Undertaker are etched in the memories of countless wrestling fans. His imposing presence and distinctive appearance made him a formidable and unforgettable opponent.
Kamala passed away in 2020 at the age of 70.
SummerSlam 1992 Pay Controversy
At WWF SummerSlam 1992 at Wembley Stadium in front of 80,000 fans, The Undertaker defeated Kamala via DQ. The match lasted just over 3 minutes.
Kamala revealed in interviews that Undertaker made $500,000 for this match, while he only made $10,000.
Here’s what Kamala said about this during an interview with “Not In The Hall Of Fame” back in 2012:
“If I have to bet my life on what The Undertaker got paid, I wouldn’t do it. I would never ask him. What happened was Steve Lombardi, you know him? He’s in with the office and has been there some twenty years. He was running around and went into the room where Pat Patterson was. Patterson had left, and left his briefcase. He (Lombardi) was scrambling through his books, and he saw what I made and he was exactly right.
He saw what The Undertaker made, and he said The Undertaker made half a million. Like I said, I couldn’t prove it, but he hit it right on the head with what I made, so I believe him about The Undertaker. You know, I’m not knocking The Undertaker. He’s a gentleman, and I like him. He’s a super nice man. I think he deserved every dime he got, but what about me?”
