• WWF Legend Comments On Jerry Lawler Asking Female Fans To Show Their “Puppies”
On the latest episode of his weekly ‘The Kurt Angle Show’ podcast, our 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist spoke about the WWF Unforgiven 2000 pay-per-view, in which he was defeated by Triple H in a ‘No Disqualification’ match with fellow WWF Legend Mick Foley as the special guest referee.
Apparently women in the stands were showing their breasts during RAW & SmackDown leading up to the PPV, which was allegedly caused by color-commentator Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler telling the girls to flash during the commercial break.
Kurt Angle didn’t appreciate that at all and had the following to say:
“It was the worst idea in the world for Jerry Lawler to have fans show their puppies.
Whether it’s during the show or during commercial break, that’s when the fans don’t get involved in the match anymore. They’re more interested in seeing naked women in the crowd – and I don’t blame them for that [laughs].
The thing is, it’s something that we tried, it was the wrong thing and we didn’t do it anymore after that.”
