WWF Legend Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat last wrestled on a Big Time Wrestling show in Raleigh, North Carolina on November 27th 2022.
He teamed up with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR in a 6-Man Tag Team match against Jay Lethal, Brock Anderson and Nick Aldis.
Steamboat and his team won that match after which Steamboat returned to his retirement life.
On an episode of AEW Collision earlier this month, Steamboat officiated a “Real” AEW World Championship match between CM Punk and 2023 Men’s Owen Hart Cup winner Ricky Starks, which ended with Punk winning and Starks attacking Steamboat and whipping the WWE Hall of Famer with his belt.
Starks was suspended by AEW for attacking Steamboat, but his suspension will be up before All Out.
AEW President Tony Khan has announced that Starks will challenge Steamboat to a Strap match at the All Out pay-per-view on this Saturday’s episode of Collision.
“This Saturday, September 2
@UnitedCenter Chicago, IL
Saturday Night #AEWCollision
Live on TNT
8pm ET/7pm CT
This Saturday on @TNTdrama, Absolute @starkmanjones will appear LIVE on AEW Collision to challenge Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat to a strap match THIS Sunday at #AEWAllOut!”

As noted before, the reported plan for All Out was Starks vs. Punk for the “Real” AEW World Championship in the main event of the show, but plans probably changed due to Punk’s suspension.
It’s unknown if Steamboat will accept Starks’ challenge or if he will swerve him and bring out someone to represent him against Starks in a match.
Below are the matches that have been announced for Saturday’s Collision:
– Billy Gunn & The Acclaimed (c) vs. Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker for the AEW World Trios Championship
– Jay White vs. AEW World Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood
– The Outcasts (AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya, Toni Storm & Ruby Soho) vs. Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida & TBS Women’s Champion Kris Statlander
