Vince McMahon celebrated his 80th birthday at the end of last month. His birthday party was attended by several big names like John Cena, The Undertaker, Kane, Drew McIntyre, The Godfather and JBL.
The two-day celebration took place at the five-star Baccarat Hotel in New York City, with the former WWE CEO covering all expenses for his guests, including hotel rooms and tickets to a New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox game. Musical performances were provided by Jelly Roll and Kid Rock.
WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter was also among the names who attended the event. During an interview with Bill Apter of SK Wrestling, the former WWF Champion revealed that cell phones weren’t allowed at the event.
Here’s what he said:
“We all sat down to have our dinners, and the New York Symphony was playing when we got there. When we got there, we could hear the orchestra, but we couldn’t see them because they had it curtained off, and all of a sudden a curtain opened up, and there was Vince on the stage, and he said, ‘Welcome to my 80th birthday party. Come down and join me, and let’s have some fun.’
We all made our way down to the pit there where our tables were, and it was magnificent. It was the most incredible scene, but nobody was allowed to have cell phones. You either had to leave them in your room or check them at the door when you came in.
If you needed to call someone, you had to go outside and do it. Nobody was allowed to take pictures. They had cameras there for their purposes, but nobody was allowed to have a cell phone out.”
Vince McMahon Introduced His Girlfriend To The Godfather At His 80th Birthday Party
The Godfather recently spoke about the fancy two-day event on the Poddin’ Ain’t Easy podcast, where he revealed that Mr. McMahon introduced him to his girlfriend.
“He had on like a Dr. Evil suit on, bro… I thought, Dr. Evil. He introduced me to his girlfriend, or whatever she was.”
The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that it took place at the 5-star Baccarat Hotel in New York City, where McMahon paid everything for his guests including the hotel rooms and even a New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox game. Jelly Roll provided musical entertainment during the event.
“Vince bought everything, paid for the hotel, just for us people.”
The Godfather also spoke about his reunion with The Undertaker at the hotel spa when he decided to get his first-ever facial.
“I get there, and I get in my own little room and get my little robe on and my little fufu slippers. I open the door… the room across me, door opens up. Who is it? The Undertaker. I go, ‘facial.’ He goes, ‘Yeah’… Who would ever thought, bro?”
The 64-year-old legend also mentioned the conversation he had with McMahon, where the former WWE Chairman told him that he had only invited his true friends to his birthday party.
He went on to say that McMahon “looked a lot better” and was “walking a lot better” than in recent videos that surfaced online.
