WWF Veteran Claims Blood On Mat At Over The Edge ’99 Was Fake, Not Owen Hart’s

ECW Star The Blue Meanie recently cleared up a misconception in the Mr. McMahon documentary on his Facebook podcast, where he talked about the “blood” on the mat at Over The Edge ‘99 being fake.

You can see in the image below that the “blood” was there on Sunday Night Heat, long before the tragic incident involving Owen.

“There’s a misconception I saw in the ‘Mr. McMahon’ docuseries that when Owen Hart died at Over The Edge, the show went on that his blood was in the ring.

It wasn’t his blood.

On Sunday Night Heat (now called ‘Heat’ on Peacock) Goldust and I wrestled the Hardy’s with Michael Hayes in their corner.

After the match, there was a blood bath on the Hardy’s.

Matt Hardy put his ‘bloodied’ arm on the mat coincidentally, where Owen would later fall, and it stayed there the remainder of the show.

I know it doesn’t make his loss hurt any less.

But the docu series jarred that memory loose and I felt compelled to talk about it during “Mornings With Meanie” yesterday.”
