AEW Dynamite Results – Main Event Of Double Or Nothing Revealed

– AEW Dynamite kicked off with Tony Khan via satellite. He welcomed fans to the show. The screen glitched, and Matthew & Nicolas Jackson appeared in the production truck and show the new Elite only Dynamite opening.

– AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland said the EVPs are power hungry, and need to be handled. Matthew & Nicolas Jackson appeared on the titantron and said they have chosen who Strickland will defend the AEW World Title against at Double or Nothing. It’s revealed to be Christian Cage. The Patriarchy beat down Swerve & Prince Nana.

Christian said he didn’t forget that Swerve attacked his son Nick Wayne and left him in a pool of his own blood, and cost them their match at All In last year, and he has been waiting for the chance to make him pay.

The main event of AEW Double Or Nothing 2024 is official – Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Christian Cage for the AEW World Championship.

– Adam Copeland (Edge) (c) def. Buddy Matthews to retain the TNT Championship

After the match, Copeland grabbed 2 Steel Chairs and attempted to take Matthews out with a Con-Chair-To. The lights went out and Malakai Black appeared in the ring and told Copeland to do it.

– Samoa Joe def. Isiah Kassidy

– Orange Cassidy announced that he was informed Chuck Taylor will never wrestle again due to what Trent Beretta did to him last week. Trent came out and said that Cassidy is selfish and he is to blame for what happened to Chuck. Cassidy tried to go after Trent, but he got stopped by security. Don Callis came out and whispered something to Cassidy, and they left together.

– Jack Perry said that it was Tony Khan that made him the Scapegoat last year, but he accepted that he was going to have to be the one to make the sacrifice. Perry thanked Tony for his sacrifice last week, and declared that we are now entering a new Era under The Elite.

– Chris Jericho (c) def. Katsuyori Shibata with help from Big Bill to retain the FTW Championship

– Skye Blue challenged Willow Nightingale to a match for the TBS Women’s Championship later tonight on Rampage.

– Claudio Castagnoli def. Brian Cage

– Serena Deeb def. Mariah May after AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm threw in the towel for her.

– Kenny Omega made his return AEW. Omega said he spent 10 days in the hospital due to Diverticulitis, and was informed that he was 24 hours away from dying. Omega said for the rest of his life he will have a ticking time bomb that could send him back to the hospital, or end his life. Kenny said he was scared, and thought about retirement, but watched AEW Dynasty and saw Swerve Strickland win the AEW World Title and saw Bryan Danielson & Will Ospreay put on one of the greatest matches of all time and realized he will do everything he can to beat diverticulitis and return to the ring.

AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada confronted Omega and said that he is now The Best Bout Machine. Omega told Okada to give him a few months and they can settle it in the ring. Jack Perry attacked Omega. Omega tried to fight him off, but Perry hit him with a Steel Chair. AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks came out and took Omega out with The EVP Trigger.
