• “100% the INSPIRATION behind the Attitude Era” – Former WWF Personality On Jerry Springer’s Death
We are saddened to report that Jerry Springer has passed away at the age of 79.
He hosted his hit “The Jerry Springer Show” for 27 years.
According to TMZ, Jerry wad diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few months ago and it took a turn for the worse this week.
Jerry has appeared on WWE programming as well. He guest hosted an episode of RAW in 2010.

Former WWF writer Vince Russo took to Twitter to note that Jerry’s show was the inspiration behind the Attitude Era.
Below is what Russo tweeted:
“Man, I must acknowledge this. Make NO BONES ABOUT IT- ‘The Jerry Springer Show’ was 100% the INSPIRATION behind the WWF Attitude Era.
‘Fast’ Eddie Ferrara and myself would sit there and watch episode after episode of Springer as we wrote next week’s show. Jerry-RIP-and THANK YOU!”
WWE Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik posted a video of his appearance on The Jerry Spring Show and wrote:
