The match that we were waiting to see since WrestleMania 28, we might finally get to see this year! It’s Brother vs. Brother, Blood vs. Blood, it’s Goldust vs. Stardust! Goldust has been waiting for this match for the past 5 years, and his wish might come true now.
In 2012, it was rumored that Goldust might be returning to challenge his brother Cody Rhodes to a match at WrestleMania 28, for Cody’s Intercontinental Title, a title that Goldust has held 3 times during his days in the WWF. Unfortunately, the match didn’t happen, instead Big Show got a shot at Cody and defeated him to become the new IC Champion.
With Goldust and Stardust showing friction on WWE TV as of late, it is very much possible that WWE is finally going in the direction of this match.
5. WWE United States Championship: Rusev vs. John Cena
John Cena as the United States Champion
One of the main events at Fastlane pay-per-view is for the United States Championship, between Rusev and John Cena. Techincally, 2 things are on the line in this match, the US Title, and Rusev’s undefeated streak(no pins or submissions).
This match might not have a clean finish, as WWE officials are keen on having this match at WrestleMania. Maybe they booked this match for Fastlane just for the sake of the event promotion?
So for this match, you can expect the following: The match doesn’t even start (just like Ambrose vs Rollins from Battleground 2014), Rusev gets counted out or both men counted out, Cena passes out to the Accolade (which is highly doubted).
