Former NXT Tag Team Champion Ridge Holland has announced that he will depart WWE next month.
He took to X reveal that WWE informed him his contract with the company will not be renewed after it expires.
“I’ve been informed that WWE will not be renewing my contract when it ends on November 14th.
WWE are still going to cover my rehab from injury but my guaranteed pay will end, quite frustrating to say the least as I cannot work for another 6 months due to the aforementioned injury, with a family of 5 to support.
My career with WWE has been blighted by misfortune but I’m still thankful and grateful for the opportunity and experience. The shining light that has always kept me going is the HUGE support from a handful of special human beings. Thank you.
I’m unsure what lies ahead of me in terms of wrestling but going forward I will be working hard to heal up and in that time I will be launching my own online coaching business…..so stay tuned.
Cheers”
Ridge Holland was recently working in TNA under NXT’s partnership with the brand. He underwent surgery this month after suffering a Lisfranc injury.
Also, Karyn Best, known as “Summer Sorrell” who worked with the NXT brand, took to Instagram to announce her departure from WWE.
Below is what she posted:
“It is hard to find the right words to express what wrestling means to me. I have developed a passion and love for this business that is unlike anything I have felt before.
I have loved every second. From long, stressful days filming, to challenging days in the ring, to many hours of rehab. Not a moment went by where I didn’t feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
The reality is that I struggled with the same ongoing injury during a majority of my time at the performance center. This held me back from ever being able to show my true potential in the ring.
Knowing that I only got the opportunity to show you a small fraction of what I am capable of is what is hurting me the most.
But if that was only a fraction, imagine what happens when I’m finally at a hundred percent… the story doesn’t end here — it finally gets interesting.”
