John Cena vs Velveteen Dream - WrestleMania 36

Since becoming a part-timer, John Cena has been working with younger talent to help them to get over with the fans. His next program could also be with someone who needs a little bit of rub from a huge star to solidify his career.

Cena is very popular for giving deserving wrestlers a chance by issuing open challenges. He could do the same this time as well. His next challenge could be answered by someone from NXT.

The yellow brand has stepped up its game since moving to the USA Network and has been getting a lot more spotlight as well. In addition, NXT’s involvement will reportedly be high at this year’s WrestleMania.

Some names who could face Cena are Velveteen Dream and Lars Sullivan.

Dream is a competitor Cena has publicly stated he believes is the future of the company. Back in 2018, when asked who Cena would like to face, he stated that he would like to have a match with Dream. And it also looks possible at the moment, since Dream returned from injury earlier this month.

While Lars Sullivan’s chances of facing Cena at the Show Of Shows are very less, we can still not count him out as a potential opponent for Cena. He was slated to face the 16-Time World Champion at last year’s WrestleMania, but he went home due to anxiety issues.

Sullivan is currently out of action due to a knee injury, with his expected return time being this year’s summer. However, if he returns sooner, WWE could continue with their plans from last year.
