Below are a couple of top ECW & WWF news stories of the day.

• While talking to Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Old School Wrestling Legend ‘The Franchise’ Shane Douglas revealed that back in ECW, many wrestlers were concerned about their in-ring safety when they had to wrestle The Sandman.

5 Famous ECW stars even refused to work a program with The Sandman.

Here’s what Shane Douglas had to say:

“Bammer (Bam Bam Bigelow) refused to work with him, Taz refused to work with him, Chris Candido, Perry Saturn, me.

There was a long list of top guys that were refusing to work with him.”

Even ‘The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death–Defying Maniac’ Sabu confirmed that the The Sandman’s recklessness in the ring was an actual issue back in ECW.

During a 2019 Hannibal TV interview, Sabu said that he was nearly paralyzed by a botched move in their match.

• During an interview on the ‘Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling’ podcast, Old School WWF Veteran Phineas I. Godwinn aka Mideon revealed that there was no heat between the two legendary backstage groups in the World Wrestling Federation: The Bone Street Krew (BSK) and The Kliq.

They actually got along fine and various members from BSK actually traveled with Kliq members and vice versa.

Here’s what the former WWF European Champion had to say:

“Everybody kinda had their own cliques and we definitely had ours. But one night we’re out with Yoko and Taker, then the next night we’re with Shawn and Kevin and Hunter.

We rode with Hunter and Chyna a lot. We also traveled with Shawn. Shawn liked to have us around when Kevin wasn’t there. You can imagine why.

Shawn would need somebody to take him back to his room. We’ve undressed him and put him to bed so many times.”

BSK most famously included The Undertaker, Yokozuna, Fatu (Rikishi), Kama (The Godfather), Savio Vega and The Godwinns, while The Kliq included Shawn Michaels, Diesel (Kevin Nash), Razor Ramon (Scott Hall), Triple H and The 1-2-3 Kid (X-Pac).
