1. Chris Benoit wins Royal Rumble 2004
The winner of the 2004 Royal Rumble altered the WWE in so many ways. Benoit entered the Rumble at #1 spot and lasted for over an hour and eliminated 6 men, including the Big Show in the end to win the Rumble and go on to win the World Heavyweight Championship in the Main Event of WrestleMania XX.
There are only 2 men till date who have won the Royal Rumble match from the #1 spot, HBK and Benoit.
So whenever WWE wants to mention the fact that only 2 men have won the Rumble match from the #1 spot, only HBK is mentioned, due to the horrific incident involving the Benoit family in 2007.
Also, whenever there’s a conversation about the Royal Rumble winners, the winner of the 2004 Royal Rumble is usually skipped.
