4. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns – Universal Championship Match
As soon as “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt was traded to SmackDown in exchange of Brock Lesnar, rumors started surfacing on the internet that The Fiend would defend his newly won Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36. And it even made sense, since both of them are the biggest names on the blue brand.
Reigns was scheduled to win this year’s Royal Rumble match to challenge The Fiend for his Title at WrestleMania. However, plans changed and Drew McIntyre won the Royal Rumble to challenge WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.
Later, it was expected that Reigns would win the Elimination Chamber match to challenge The Fiend at the Show Of Shows. But the whole SmackDown side of match-card changed with the return of Goldberg.
The Fiend vs. Roman Reigns got nixed as the WWE Hall Of Famer defeated The Fiend to win the Universal Title at Super ShowDown.
Plans changed because Vince McMahon thinks of Reigns vs. Goldberg as a bigger draw than The Fiend vs. Reigns. Besides, Reigns also avoided defeating The Fiend at WrestleMania, in turn saving himself from the negative response from the fans (but now, there will be no fans in attendance).
