The first WWE show of 2021, SmackDown, will air tonight from the ThunderDome in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Last week’s show featured Big E’s second Intercontinental Championship win in the main event. Also on the show was Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens in a Steel Cage match, which ended with Reigns retaining the Title with some help from Jey Uso.
Daniel Bryan defeated Jey Uso, while Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Charlotte Flair retained their Titles against SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair and Bayley & Carmella in a Triple-Threat Tag Team match.
In this article, let’s take a look at 6 things that could happen on SmackDown tonight.
6. More Tributes To Brodie Lee
Former WWE wrestler Luke Harper (Brodie Lee in AEW) passed away at the age of 41 and the whole pro-wrestling world is mourning his death.
A tribute graphic for Harper, some video highlights looking back at his WWE career and tributes from multiple wrestlers, specially Big E, are expected for him on tonight’s SmackDown.
WWE may play the video package they released for him yesterday.
5. Otis Defeats Cesaro
On SmackDown two weeks ago, Otis faced off against Shinsuke Nakamura to show what he had learned in Chad Gable’s Alpha Academy, and he impressed his coach by getting a big win over Nakamura.
Tonight, he’s set to battle Nakamura’s partner, Cesaro, in a singles encounter.
Otis will probably win this match to continue hyping up his training in the Alpha Academy.
