• Former IMPACT Wrestling Main Eventer Arrested For Stealing Protein Powder
Michael Elgin used to be ROH World Heavyweight Champion in 2014, but most (modern day era) fans remember him for his 2019-2020 run with IMPACT Wrestling (fka TNA), where he main evented quite a few shows, including challenging IMPACT World Champion Brian Cage for the Title at Slammiversary XVII in a losing effort.
When sexual assault allegations came up against him in June of 2020 as part of the ‘Speaking Out movement’, IMPACT Wrestling removed him from their roster and terminated his contract immediately.
BodySlam’s Cassidy Haynes reported that Elgin was arrested a few days ago in Japan for stealing protein powder and is currently still in jail over there.
Here’s what was written:
“I can now confirm the reason for Michael Elgin’s absence is due to the fact that he was arrested last weekend in Japan for stealing. Sources confirmed to me that Elgin was arrested for stealing protein powder, and that he is currently still in jail.
Word going around is that Elgin could be facing up to 5 years in jail, unless a potential deal is arranged similar to the one Matt Sydal worked out for his cannabis arrest in 2016, where the charges were dropped but he would never be allowed to return to Japan again.”
Michael Elgin was in Japan to wrestle for the Pro Wrestling NOAH promotion, but obviously couldn’t make it to the show for above mentioned reasons.

• Old School WCW Referee Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the 63rd birthday of Old School WCW Referee Randy Anderson.
Randy Anderson was a professional wrestling referee during the 70s, 80s & 90s, working for several territories such as Mid-South Wrestling, Championship Wrestling from Florida and Jim Crockett Promotions.
When Ted Turner bought Jim Crockett Promotions in late 1988 and renamed it World Championship Wrestling, Randy stayed with the promotion until 1999.
If you watched WCW Monday Nitro in 1997, you will probably remember when Eric Bischoff fired him (storyline wise).
