• Hall Of Famer Says Eddie Guerrero Was Miserable During His Run As WWE Champion
During a recent episode of his weekly ‘Grilling JR’ podcast, legendary WWF commentator Jim Ross talked about the career of the late, great ‘Latino Heat’ Eddie Guerrero.
JR stated that Eddie was miserable during his 2004 run as the WWE Champion, due to the pressure of carrying the entire SmackDown! brand on his shoulders after the brand’s #1 draw, Brock Lesnar, left the company.
Here’s what Good Ol’ JR had to say:
“If Eddie had just relied on his instincts and his natural ability to work a match and perform at a high level, it would have never been an issue. But Eddie was not wound that way.
He was wound tighter than a fiddle string. I don’t know how to explain it any better. He, mentally, was putting so much pressure on himself that he was making himself miserable by being the WWE Champion.”
Eddie Guerrero defeated Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship in the main event of the No Way Out 2004 PPV on February 15, 2004, but lost the title about 4 months later on June 27th at the Great American Bash 2004 pay-per-view, when he was defeated by JBL in a Texas Bullrope match.

• Old School NWA/WWWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the 96th birthday of Old School NWA/WWWF Legend Killer Kowalski (Real name: Walter Kowalski).
Kowalski wrestled from 1948 till his retirement from active in-ring competition in 1977.
In his pro-wrestling school, he trained several wrestlers, who eventually became famous stars on their own, such as “The Game” Triple H, Big John Studd, Chyna & Perry Saturn.
In 1996, Killer Kowalski was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame (now known as WWE Hall of Fame) by his former student Hunter Hearst Helmsley (now known as Triple H).
