• £1,000 Fine Possible for UK Fans Watching John Cena’s Final SummerSlam Match
UK viewers hoping to catch John Cena’s final ever SummerSlam appearance this weekend on Netflix are being hit with a stark warning – failing to have a valid TV license could land them with a fine of up to £1,000. The warning applies specifically to live programming streamed via Netflix on August 2 and 3, and affects more than 17 million UK-based subscribers of the world’s most popular streaming service.
However, what many fans may not realize is that watching live events on Netflix in the UK requires a valid TV license. While on-demand content remains exempt, the BBC confirmed that live content – including this weekend’s SummerSlam 2025 PLE – falls under the UK’s TV licensing laws.
That means if you stream the event live without a license, you could be breaking the law. Each year, a number of people across the UK are taken to court for not complying with these rules and can face fines reaching £1,000. It’s one of the most common TV-related offences in the country, and authorities do enforce it regularly.
So if you’re in the UK and planning to watch John Cena’s final SummerSlam match this weekend, make sure your TV license is up to date – or be prepared for legal consequences.

• WWE Turned Down Karrion Kross’ Request Ahead of SummerSlam
Tonight at SummerSlam 2025 – Night 1, Karrion Kross will face Sami Zayn in their rubber match.
During an interview on The Ringer Wrestling Show, Kross revealed that he asked WWE to let him work Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV event tonight, but WWE officials didn’t let him.
Here’s what the former NXT Champion said:
“I was requested actually for this Bloodsport, but I think the concern of like maybe potentially getting injured before doing SummerSlam, working twice, they shot it down. I was a little bummed about that. I would have loved to have worked twice in one day just for the novelty of being able to say I did two amazing events back-to-back.”
