• Tony Khan Says The Highlight Of Sting’s Retirement Was What He Said To Him Backstage
During an interview with amNewYork, AEW President Tony Khan talked about Sting’s retirement match at Revolution 2024.
Here’s what Khan said:
“Before Sting went out for his last match, as they were showing the video package, and as his sons were about to make their entrances and they were on the stage, that was really special.
Sting said some very nice things to me right before he went out that I’ll never forget about how fantastic his run had been, and how happy he was about all this and the things he said afterwards. That was really probably the highlight.”
Sting appeared at the AEW WrestleDream PPV this past Saturday, where he beat up The Death Riders for interfering in the Darby Allin vs. Jon Moxley “I Quit” match.
• “He’s a little undersized, but that’s not an excuse” – WWE Legend Says Chad Gable Can Be A Main Eventer
During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Kurt Angle praised Chad Gable (who was also portraying El Grande Americano before his injury) and thinks the former Tag Team Champion should be a main eventer in WWE.
Here’s what Angle said:
“I think he’s great. I’m just happy he was able to find his niche. I know it’s kind of identical to mine, but if it works for him I’m happy for him. I think regardless of if he did my character or anyone else’s, I think the kid’s incredibly talented, so he would have succeeded either way.
You know the problem with him, I think it’s only because the office looks at him like this but he’s a little undersized, but that’s not an excuse. Chris Benoit was 5’9″, Eddie Guerrero was 5’8″, Rey Mysterio’s 5’5″, so someone like Chad can be a main eventer.”
• Arn Anderson Reveals Why Kurt Angle Beat The Dog Sh*t Out Of John Cena Once
During an interview on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson recalled an incident between Kurt Angle and John Cena in the ring early in Cena’s career, where Angle beat up Cena.
Here’s what Arn said:
“Vince pulled me in the office and went, ‘We got a new kid that we pulled up. We think he’s got a very bright future, Arn, teach him how to work.’ I did in fact have his matches, and John was very, very green. He was green in his thought process.
One night, he was working with Kurt Angle, some guy out in the audience had one of those ‘hands’ and John spotted it. He just leaves Kurt, rolls out of the ring, goes about 10 rows deep, takes the hand, and folds it into a finger. He goes back over the rail. Right there’s Kurt. Kurt hit him with the Belly-to-Belly on the floor and threw him in the ring and stomped his brains out.
When he came back through the curtain, I went, ‘Learn anything tonight?’ And he had this (wide-eyed) look on his face, ‘Oh yeah,’ because he had just got the dog sh*t kicked out of him by somebody that could do it and not have any repercussions from it.
I just said, ‘You gotta respect the guy. You don’t leave a guy, even in the ring. You don’t leave a guy and walk over and start screaming at the fans with your back to that guy.’”
• “This was all one big work. I was the one getting worked” – Karrion Kross On WWE Departure
Karrion Kross left WWE after losing to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam 2025, as his contract expired. Fans thought this was a work and he’d eventually return. Now, it looks like that wasn’t the case.
In his “One Big Work” documentary, Kross said he was the one getting worked by WWE, not the fans:
“‘Is this all a big work?’ Is that what you’re asking me, is this a work? Is this a big elaborate, intricate work where I come back and say ‘surprise’?
The answer to that question is, in a sense, yes, this was all one big work. The worst part about it, though, is that it’s not the work everybody thought it was because I was the one getting worked.”
During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show in August, Kross explained why he didn’t accept WWE’s new contract offer:
“I got the offer. I wanted to know how they came to the valuation of that offer. Just wanted some information, some metrics, some analytics that’s supporting to, ‘Hey, this is how we got here.’
When I inquired about that, they were unwilling to provide that information and told me they had 24 hours to agree to the offer or they were rescinding it.
The next day, we talk. I ask if they have the information. They don’t. I said, I can’t make an informed decision without the information. I’d like to keep the dialog open. They rescinded the offer, and that’s actually where we’re at.
The goal has always been to be with WWE. My wife and I still want to be with WWE. I’m at the table for conversations. I did not step out of the conversation. We still want to be there. We still want to work it out.”
Kross also noted that WWE didn’t offer Scarlett a new contract, as they wanted to deal with him first. Kross went on a reveal that he has received offers from top promotion, but not AEW, as they think this situation is a work.
