Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day.
• Absent Wrestler Expected To Return To WWE TV Soon
Kiana James, who was drafted to RAW in 2024, has been absent from WWE TV for an extended period. This has naturally led to questions and concerns among fans regarding her status.
The mystery surrounding James’ absence was addressed by Mike Johnson of PWInsider during a Q&A session a few months back. In response to a fan inquiry about James’ prolonged inactivity since June of last year, Johnson revealed, “Kiana James was placed on WWE’s injured list around that time, with the belief being that she required knee surgery.”
Initial reports indicated that James would be sidelined for approximately six months following the surgery. However, the timeframe has significantly exceeded this estimate, fueling increased speculation about her recovery. It was a serious injury that required surgery.
In an update, WrestleVotes is reporting that Kiana is expected back on WWE TV soon. WWE Officials are very high on her and she has impressed a lot of people with her in-ring work.

• “WWE ruined my love and passion for the sport” – AEW Star
During an interview with Z100 New York, AEW President Tony Khan praised Ricochet:
“He’s fantastic. He’s an incredible wrestler, he’s also a great talker and he has a great personality and it’s about giving him an opportunity to showcase that.
He’s certainly really leaned into it and has found himself and he’s building one of the best characters I think in wrestling, which is the villain Ricochet that we see on TV right now. He’s one of the most compelling and interesting people in wrestling in my personal opinion.
I’m proud that AEW has Ricochet on our roster for years to come and hopefully forever because that guy is a star. I love working with him and I think Trevor is one of the best wrestlers on the planet right now.”
After this, a fan on X wrote the following about Ricochet leaving WWE for AEW:
“Dude has won 0 world titles since he’s arrived. The Main Reason he jumped ship.”
Ricochet saw this and replied:
“No, the main reason was that the WWE ruined my love and passion for the sport that I grew up loving.
AEW helped me find that love again.”
