Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day.
• Absent WWE Star Is Backstage At Tonight’s SmackDown
Alexa Bliss is backstage at tonight’s SmackDown in Dayton, Ohio, according to PWInsider. While it’s not confirmed if she’ll appear on camera, her presence suggests potential plans for her return.
Bliss last appeared on WWE programming at the Elimination Chamber premium live event on March 1. Reports indicate that WWE had plans to align her with the Wyatt Sicks faction, potentially as their leader. However, these plans were delayed due to Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy) being sidelined with an injury.
With Dallas now medically cleared to return, the storyline involving Bliss and the Wyatt Sicks may proceed. It’s unclear if Bliss’ presence at SmackDown is related to this storyline or another creative direction.
Bliss re-signed with WWE around the Royal Rumble weekend in January 2025 and has made three televised appearances since. Her absence from WrestleMania 41 was reportedly due to the postponed plans involving the Wyatt Sicks.
As of now, WWE has not officially announced Bliss’ on-screen return. Fans will have to tune in to SmackDown to see if she makes an appearance.

• Reason For Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul Not Taking Place At Backlash
Instead of Backlash, Jey Uso and Logan Paul are expected to face off for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24 in Tampa, Florida.
The Wrestling Observer reported that WWE strategically moved the match for the NBC special. This encounter is expected to be a main attraction at the likely sold-out event.
The report stated the show is almost sold out, with 9,224 tickets gone out of 9,762, partly due to John Cena’s advertised appearance. However, Cena’s participation is uncertain since he’s set to defend his title against Randy Orton at Backlash tomorrow night. They mentioned Cena “could” wrestle at the May 24 event, but it’s not confirmed.
Logan Paul’s recent attack on Jey Uso after RAW went off the air was aimed to build excitement on social media for their upcoming match. The NBC special is anticipated to have a stacked lineup.
