• WWE Dismissing Negative Fan Reaction To Jey Uso’s Push
WWE was originally planning to have CM Punk face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event next week. However, those plans changed after The Visionary was forced to relinquish his title due to a shoulder injury.
On the latest episode of RAW, Jey Uso won a Battle Royal to earn a match against CM Punk for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.
While many fans had hoped to see Bron Breakker or another fresh face in the title picture, Jey’s victory left some disappointed. The reaction online was largely negative, and the YouTube video showing Jey’s Battle Royal win has since received a significant number of dislikes.
“Main Event” Jey Uso has appeared in several of WWE’s most disliked YouTube videos this year. However, according to Fightful Select, WWE sources stated that YouTube “dislikes” do not affect booking decisions and even questioned their accuracy.
Earlier this year, Jey also caused a stir when he won the Royal Rumble by eliminating John Cena to secure a World Heavyweight Title match against Gunther at WrestleMania 41. Many fans felt that the outcome lacked excitement as Jey had already faced The Ring General several times before The Show of Shows.
• Asuka Responds To Goldberg Taking A Shot At Her
Goldberg’s legendary undefeated streak in WCW ended at 173–0, a record that stood for years until Asuka surpassed it after joining WWE. The Empress of Tomorrow remained unbeaten for 914 days, much longer than the WWE Hall of Famer.
Goldberg recently referred to Asuka as “some girl” and claimed that WWE intentionally booked her to break his record. He believes the decision was made as payback for his time in WCW as he was an important player for the promotion in the Monday Night Wars against the WWF.
Here’s what the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion said on Real Talk with Mike Burke:
“Some girl at WWE. They did it on purpose. I have nothing against the girl, by any means, but yeah.
I was part of WCW when we were kicking their a$$ in the Monday Night Wars. I didn’t know what was going on at the time, I was just on one of the sides. Now, one side dissolves and the other one consumes everything, so they can treat everyone and everything the way they want.
I think there is always going to be the bird in their a$$ that I was part of a company where I was the champion in a very short period of time and we were beating them in the ratings.”
Asuka took to X today to respond to the WCW Legend’s comments and stated that she’s not really bothered about them.
“Goldberg’s comments about me are all over the news right now. But honestly, I’m not bothered by it at all. What he said came from his own perspective, and that’s fine. So there’s really no need to make such a big deal out of it.
Listen to my philosophy.
It’s not about what I accomplish. It’s about what I try to create. Philosophy and vision, that’s where the real value is. I don’t find meaning in anything without beauty. I’ve achieved every record, every title, but those are just milestones.
What really matters is opening a new era. Creating the moment that separates Before Asuka and After Asuka. Having the power to change an era. That’s where true value and beauty exist.
I don’t chase records or championships. They’re the ones that come to me. There’s not enough art in this world.”
Goldberg retired earlier this year after losing to Gunther in a World Heavyweight Championship match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12.
Asuka is currently involved in a feud with Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY.
