Below are some top AEW & WWE news stories of the day:
– On June 4, AEW Producer B.J. Whitmer was arrested in Boone County, Kentucky for first-degree strangulation and second-degree burglary.
The bond was set at $25,000.
Due to this situation, All Elite Wrestling has fired Whitmer. Below is the statement AEW issued:
“B.J. Whitmer has been terminated following his arrest on domestic violence charges.
While talent and staff are ultimately responsible for their own personal actions, this behavior is intolerable within AEW.
AEW has reached out to offer support to those impacted by his behavior.”

– WWE’s TV deals for RAW & SmackDown will expire in 2024 and they are in talks with various companies for their next deals.
According to New York Post, Amazon Prime is in talks with WWE about adding their LIVE pro-wrestling shows to their schedule, after the addition of NFL Thursday Night Football.
They also noted that Disney is interested in bringing WWE programming to FX, and not ESPN because they can’t guarantee a specific night of the week due to their rotating slate of games, as ESPN has deals with NFL, NBA, MLB, and other sports leagues.
WrestleVotes reported the following about this situation:
“Regarding the TV rights negotiations, there is big time interest from WWE in a Disney partnership.
Not to say the other parties involved aren’t enticing, but Disney is viewed as a win-win if that’s ultimately the decision.”
