• “AEW has no star power” – WWE Hall Of Famer On Why Tony Khan Is Still Doing Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin
WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley aka Bully Ray has been a frequent critic of AEW. While he believes the company is doing well overall, he still thinks there are areas that need improvement. He recently took aim at the continuation of the Jon Moxley and Darby Allin feud after WrestleDream.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully said that AEW often struggles with follow-ups after their pay-per-views and pointed out what he sees as a lack of star power in the company.
“I’m really having a hard time with the glaring holes. The pay-per-view is good or it’s great. It’s fun and exciting, and you can feel the energy in the room, and they have good houses. And then we always talk about the follow-up. And then there seems to be a lack of follow-up. Are you surprised?”
When asked if he was surprised Tony Khan continued the feud between Moxley and Allin, Bully said that it was necessary because the company doesn’t have enough top names.
“They have to. They’re forced. They have no star power. Because they need star power. They need more story.”
Bully added that instead of dragging out the current storyline, he’d like to see Moxley involved in something new, possibly an on-screen angle with his wife, AEW interviewer Renee Paquette.
