Below are some top WWE & AEW news stories of the day:

– AEW wrestler Jake Hager (former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger in WWE) recently announced his retirement from MMA.

He’s retiring with an undefeated record of 3-0 (1 No Contest). All 4 of his fights took place in Bellator, with the first one taking place on January 26th 2019 and the last one on October 29th 2020.

Hager noted last year that he wanted to fight Fedor Emelianeko and Ryan Bader, but those fights never happened.

During a virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, Hager said that he felt Bellator was ‘jerking him off’, so he decided to retire and focus on just pro-wrestling.

Also during this signing, Hager revealed that his plan was to remain undefeated in MMA, then return to WWE to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania:

“When I left WWE, my plan was to go to MMA, get really good, be undefeated and then go back to WWE and wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. A little slight turn. A lot of that happened. We were close. I’d kick Roman’s butt. He knows it, I know it. If you want to tell him that, tell him that.”
