Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day, involving Sammy Guevara and WWE Hall of Fame.
• Jeff Hardy recently suffered a broken nose during a No DQ match against Sammy Guevara on AEW Rampage on February 14. Guevara’s knee landed on Jeff’s face during a Shooting Star Press.
On his podcast, AEW’s special attraction wrestler Rob Van Dam said that Sammy owes accountability for this accident:
“That’s why they call it a high-risk move. I’m not throwing shade on anybody because accidents happen. God knows I’ve potatoed people in my matches but that’s on Sammy, completely. That’s a high-risk move. When you f**k it up, it’s on you.”
All Elite Wrestling has indeed punished Sammy for this incident, as he has been suspended.
According to Fightful Select, Sammy is presently serving a suspension due to the incident with Jeff.
After Hardy got injured, proper concussion protocol was not followed. Additionally, Guevara performed his finishing move on Hardy, a maneuver that, as per reports, should not have been executed given the circumstances.
