At AEW Full Gear 2022, William Regal helped MJF defeat Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship.

On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF turned on Regal by punching him from behind with brass knuckles. Regal was then taken out on a stretcher.

Multiple sources have reported that Regal is done with All Elite Wrestling and will now return to WWE.

According to the Wrestling Observer, AEW talent is questioning why such a big spotlight was put on Regal when he was about to leave the company:

“I can’t understand putting so much heel steam to the point of being the point man in stealing the Title on Regal, when it was known by the key people by this point he was gone in a few weeks. I mean, story or not, the guy was leaving.

A lot of talent has questioned that in the same way now that everyone knows he’s leaving.”
