• In the world of professional wrestling, injuries are an unfortunate reality due to the physically demanding nature of the sport. Recently, AEW wrestler Chuck Taylor has found himself on the sidelines following a severe injury, which has been described as a potentially career-ending injury for Taylor.

It was announced that Taylor had suffered a fractured ankle, which was compounded by necrosis of the bone beneath the cartilage. This diagnosis suggested a grim outlook for his wrestling career. The Wrestling Observer confirmed the severity of the injury, noting that the current belief is Taylor might not be able to wrestle again.

Speaking on “Close Up with Renee Paquette,” Taylor provided more context about his injury. He explained that the issue originated in October, initially thought to be a bruised talus and ligament damage. Initially, it was believed that the injury could be managed with rehabilitation. However, as time passed without improvement, medical advice indicated that surgery was necessary.

Despite the dire prognosis, Taylor remains optimistic. He pointed out that many athletes have returned from so-called “career-ending” injuries and expressed hope that he could be one of them. Taylor has postponed the surgery to gain experience in the production side of television this summer, indicating his desire to stay involved in the wrestling industry regardless of his in-ring status.

Taylor reassured his fans, emphasizing that his injury does not require immediate surgical intervention. He mentioned that while avoiding surgery could lead to severe arthritis in the future, there are options to manage it, including the possibility of fusing the joint later on.
