• Old School Wrestling Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 89th birthday of Old School Wrestling Legend Don Leo Jonathan (Real name: Don Heaton).

Don Leo Jonathan wrestled for several territories in Canada and the United States during the 40s, 50s, 60s & 70s, before he retired in 1980.

In his final match, he teamed up with Andre the Giant & Roddy Piper to defeat The Sheepherders (The Bushwhackers in WWF) & Buddy Rose.

Standing at 6’6 and weighing over 300 lbs, Jonathan was a former 2 time NWA Canadian Heavyweight Champion, a former 2 time NWA Texas Heavyweight Champion and a former NWA Canadian Tag Team Champion.

In 1973 and 1974, he also wrestled for Vince McMahon Sr.’s World Wide Wrestling Federation, which a few years later was renamed to ‘World Wrestling Federation’.

Don Leo Jonathan was inducted into multiple Hall of Fames, including Stampede Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame, but has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, which – if it happens – will be as part of their annual Legacy Wing inductions.

• AEW Wrestler Isn’t Impressed By WWE’s New Video Game

For the first time in 8 years, 2K won’t release a simulation game for WWE. The company has announced that they’ll be releasing an arcade game this year instead, titled “WWE 2K Battlegrounds“.

While this is a smart move to ensure that the next simulation game 2K produces for WWE won’t be as disappointing as WWE 2K20, some fans didn’t like the idea of an arcade game. They called it just a remake of WWE All Stars.

Not only fans, but some wrestlers aren’t pleased about the announcement as well.

AEW’s Big Swole (wife of WWE RAW wrestler Cedric Alexander) shares the same opinion with many fans, as she thinks that WWE 2K Battlegrounds is just going to be a copy of All Stars.
