AEW is reportedly setting the stage for a blockbuster showdown at All In: Texas 2025, scheduled for July 12 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
According to Fightful Select, the current plan pits AEW International Champion Kenny Omega against AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada in a title unification match. This match would see two of AEW’s most celebrated competitors collide, potentially merging the International and Continental Championships into a single, prestigious title.
Omega and Okada share a storied history that dates back to their time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Their rivalry produced some of the most acclaimed matches in NJPW history, beginning with their clash at Wrestle Kingdom 11 on January 4, 2017. There, Okada defended the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Omega in a 46-minute match.
Their rematch at Dominion 6.11 in June 2017 ended in a rare 60-minute time-limit draw. The trilogy concluded at Dominion 6.9 in June 2018, where Omega dethroned Okada in a two-out-of-three falls match to claim the IWGP Heavyweight Title. These encounters showcased their unparalleled chemistry and ability to push each other to new heights, making a potential AEW rematch highly anticipated.
In AEW, both men have been on converging paths. Omega, sidelined for over a year due to diverticulitis, made a triumphant return at Worlds End 2024, presenting Okada with the Continental Championship after Okada won the Continental Classic.
Omega then captured the International Championship from Konosuke Takeshita at Revolution 2025, reigniting his rivalry with the Don Callis Family. Meanwhile, Okada, who joined AEW in 2024 and aligned with The Elite, has held the Continental Championship since defeating Eddie Kingston in March 2024. His recent defenses, including against Will Ospreay at Worlds End, have solidified his dominance.
The seeds for this unification bout were planted with Omega’s return and their shared screen time, hinting at unfinished business.
AEW’s reported plans to consolidate titles, discussed internally for months, align perfectly with this matchup. If it comes to fruition, Omega vs. Okada at All In: Texas could not only unify two championships but also deliver another chapter in one of modern wrestling’s greatest rivalries, blending their rich history with AEW’s bold future.
