We noted yesterday that former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio made his debut for Impact Wrestling at this week’s TV tapings. He wrestled under his “Alberto El Patron” name and defeated Lashley in the main event to capture the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship in a controversial match.

Due to this controversy, the Impact World Title was taken off Del Rio and given back to Lashley. Del Rio then faced Ethan Carter III in a #1 contenders match and won. He will now face Lashley again for the Impact World Heavyweight Championship.
Speaking of Titles, the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Titles have been vacated (as former Champions The Hardys have left) and will be contested in a tournament.
