• Backstage Feeling In WWE About Why CM Punk Was At RAW

CM Punk was backstage at last night’s RAW at the Allstate Arena in Chicago.

He met Triple H for the first time in 9 years and spoke to some other WWE wrestlers, including The Miz.

Punk was then asked to leave by WWE’s Head of Security Jim Kelly, which was said to be a Vince McMahon call (who wasn’t backstage, but was at home making various changes to the show).

He immediately said his goodbyes and left the arena. Vince reportedly made this decision because Punk is under contract with AEW.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the backstage feeling in WWE is that Punk wants to be back in the company where he was champion for 434 days:

“The feeling in WWE was that he was there because he wanted back. Obviously there were talks of him going back, whatever it was, late last year. But he couldn’t go because he was still under contract.

And my impression is this was with Paul Levesque in charge and not Vince, and my impression was they didn’t have any interest in him at that time.”
