• Seeds Planted For Goldberg To Face AEW Champion In His Retirement Match?

Bill Goldberg’s contract with WWE has expired and he is currently a Free Agent.

Goldberg noted in an interview in March that WWE owes him a retirement match.

If WWE doesn’t give Goldberg a retirement match, AEW might. AEW President Tony Khan said during an interview that he’s paying attention to the Goldberg situation and is open to bringing him in.

During an interview on 93.7 The Ticket, Goldberg said he’s leaning towards promoting his retirement tour himself and is thinking about a four-city World Tour.

AEW’s TNT Champion Wardlow was interviewed by Simon Miller, who asked him if the rumors of Goldberg meeting him and telling him “You’re Next” are true.

Below is what Wardlow said:

“I actually pointed at him and I said, ‘Bet your a$$ I’m not next.’ So yeah, you guys just missed it. Goldberg did walk through just a minute ago and we exchanged words.

I do not know what’s happening behind the scenes, but we both mutually agreed that if the opportunity comes, we would love to see who really is next.”

Wardlow also noted that facing Goldberg is a Dream Match for him:

“If it comes down to Wardlow being the man to retire Goldberg, I can die peacefully. I couldn’t ask for more.”

On last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Wardlow defeated Powerhouse Hobbs to win the TNT Championship, thus becoming a 3-time TNT Champion.
