Will CM Punk return to WWE after almost 10 years?

CM Punk was fired from All Elite Wrestling last month after an investigation was carried out into the fight between him and “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry backstage at AEW All In back in August.

There have been rumors about Punk wanting to return to WWE, and those rumors are gaining momentum as Survivor Series comes closer, because the Premium Live Event is scheduled to take place in Punk’s hometown of Chicago this year.

Fightful Select reports that as of two weeks ago, nobody in WWE had indicated that Punk was in talks with the company.

In late September, there were feelers sent out from Punk to WWE to see if there was any interest there. As of last month, one WWE employee advised someone close to Punk that talking to WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon directly would be the best way for him to secure a return to the company.

It was also noted that no one in WWE has been told that Punk would be returning, and most top talent are opposed to it. However, they don’t feel that it’s impossible, and sources close to Punk and WWE believe Punk would make the move, but there are fences to mend.

As we reported before, Punk was willing to return to WWE at the Royal Rumble earlier this year to set up a match between himself and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 39.
