Concerns arose for WWE Champion Cody Rhodes following an injury scare during this week’s episode of SmackDown. Now, an update on his health status sheds light on the situation.

During the opening night of the 2024 WWE Draft, SmackDown made a bold move by selecting former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes, who wasted no time in issuing a challenge to the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Accepting the challenge, Rhodes and Hayes engaged in the main event that captivated viewers. Despite Hayes’ impressive performance, Rhodes ultimately emerged victorious.

However, a moment of concern arose during the match when both wrestlers attempted springboard moves simultaneously, resulting in both men missing each other and Rhodes landing awkwardly on his shoulder. Fans feared for his well-being in the aftermath of the incident.

According to a report from Fightful Select, inquiries were made regarding Rhodes’ condition following the match. However, Rhodes provided a vague response:

“Speaking of the main event, we reached out to Cody Rhodes to ask if he was okay, and he said ‘always’, but that isn’t exactly a definitive update.”

Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles will have a final face-off on next Friday’s SmackDown in France, just one night before they collide in their WWE Championship match at Backlash.

They made their title match official by signing a contract on this week’s episode.

After Cody defeated Carmelo, Styles almost attacked Rhodes from behind, but stopped and said he was this close to laying out The American Nightmare. Both men shook hands to end the show.
