• Old School WWF Legend Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WWF Legend The Iron Sheik (Real name: Khosrow Vaziri) celebrates his 78th birthday today.

The Iron Sheik wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1983 until 1987, then briefly in 1988 and again from 1991 till 1992.

In December 1983, Sheik defeated Bob Backlund for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship, a title he lost a month later to “The Incredible” Hulk Hogan. The rest is history.

His last major match happened in 2001, when he won the famous ‘Gimmick Battle Royal’ at WWF WrestleMania X-Seven.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 by his old rival Sgt. Slaughter.

On last week’s episode of RAW, AJ Styles challenged The Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania 36 and addressed Taker by his real name – Mark Calaway.

Styles said he doesn’t see Taker as “The Undertaker” anymore, but as an old guy named Mark Calaway.

This began speculation that The Undertaker could be dropping his “Deadman” gimmick on the road to WrestleMania 36.

According to Tom Colohue, there are no plans for The Undertaker to change his iconic gimmick at this point in his career:

“Absolutely not. It’s all branding at this point. The Undertaker is an icon. Mark Calaway is just a guy. They will never let that go.

And even if you have subtle character changes, which does seem to be what they are leaning towards, even if you have Michelle McCool accompanying him, you could do pretty much anything.

They will never drop The Undertaker name because the name alone makes them money.”
