Below are some top AEW news stories of the day.

• Social Media was filled with negative comments about the Jon Moxley vs. Cope vs. Christian Cage main event for the AEW World Championship at Revolution 2025.

A fan asked Sean Ross Sapp on The Hump if Tony Khan will be made aware of the negative fan reaction to Moxley’s title reign. Ross replied:

“He’s aware. He knows of it because he’s all over social media; he knows; he is all over social media.

I remember when the rumors that Darby was just gonna come back and win the title from Mox came out. He had told people like he had seen that and had told people that is not a set in stone plan.

So he’s aware of that stuff. It’s not like it’s a secret or anything like that.”

• A lot of AEW fans wanted “Timeless” Toni Storm vs. Mariah May for the Women’s World Championship in “The Hollywood Ending – Falls Count Anywhere” match to main event the Revolution 2025 PPV, but it didn’t.

A women’s match has never main evented a PPV in All Elite Wrestling, and a fan questioned if that spot is reserved for Mercedes Mone when she goes after the Women’s World Title.

On The Hump, Sean Ross Sapp said nothing like that is planned for Mercedes, and he also went on to clear some things about the current TBS Women’s Champion:

“There’s a lot of misconceptions about Mercedes, like having creative control – she doesn’t. There’s a lot of stuff, like her refusing to lose – she hasn’t. In fact, she on the fly, when she knew she was hurt, said Willow (Nightingale) you gotta beat me because I’m gonna be out for a long time. I respect that a lot, but I’ve not heard of anything like that.”
