Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day, involving Sting and Bobby Lashley.

• Sting & Darby Allin (with Ric Flair) defeated The Don Callis Family (Powerhouse Hobbs & Konosuke Takeshita) in the main event of this week’s Homecoming edition of AEW Dynamite.

After the match, Tony Schiavone asked Sting if he has decided on who his final opponent(s) will be in his retirement match at Revolution. Before he could answer, The Young Bucks made their return and had a stare down with Sting & Darby.

The commentators teased Matt & Nick Jackson as the opponents for Sting’s last match ever.

According to Fightful Select, the active plan is Sting & Darby Allin vs. The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution 2024. This is something that Sting is onboard with. Tony Khan has noted in the past that giving a good sendoff to Sting is very important to him.

Regarding Ric Flair being by Sting’s side, there’s no in-ring performances planned for Flair (who will turn 75 next month), but The Nature Boy is pushing to do more physical spots.

• On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Bobby Lashley announced his entry into the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match.

After this Karrion Kross and the returning Authors of Pain attacked Lashley and The Street Profits.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE’s planned name for Lashley’s faction is The Pride:

“There were plans in place to name the Bobby Lashley / Street Profits faction on last week’s SmackDown, which got axed at the last second for unknown reasons.

I’m told those plans are still tentative as the direction of the trio could be shifting. The planned name for the group is ‘The Pride’.”
